Did German and Austro-Hungarian leaders “sleepwalk” into the catastrophe of World War 1? Or did they deliberately trigger the war in a bid to gain domination over Europe before the Allies became too strong? The debate over German intentions and war guilt started over a century ago and shows no signs of disappearing. Come and see if the war was an absent-minded accident or the product of willful calculation.

Brent graduated with a BA (Honours) in European History at the University of Alberta in 1985. He went on to complete an MA in Slavic and East European Studies, also at the U of A. Brent retired from a career in the RCMP that included teaching law, investigative practices, police tactics, and firearms at the National Academy in Regina.
