The way economics is usually taught, through stylized abstract models and mathematical rigor, does not facilitate interdisciplinary conversations or fluently address real world issues including economic inequality. Therefore, the objective in this course is to introduce participants to the content that lies behind the equations and graphs. Instead of relegating economics to the elite “experts”, the overarching idea in this course is to project that economics is for everyone. This purpose is achieved by learning economics through popular books and videos. This course will begin with approaching the ten principles of economics through the wonderful world of Disney and through multiple perspectives in contrast to the standard textbooks.
