24-A205 The Art Gallery of Alberta at 100!
Founded as the Edmonton Museum of Arts in 1924, the Art Gallery of Alberta will be turning 100 this August! This course will take a look back at the history of Alberta’s oldest visual arts organization, highlighting its evolution over the past century. Topics will include an overview of the spaces it has inhabited and their architecture, highlights from its history as an organization, and a survey of some of the most impactful artists and exhibitions presented. If possible, there will be a field trip to the AGA to see the spring exhibitions.
