Unlock your inner artist through the joy of drawing! This beginner-friendly course introduces participants to essential drawing skills in a relaxed and encouraging environment. Students will explore line, shape, proportion, shading, and composition through a variety of fun exercises and guided projects. We’ll draw from still life, simple figures, and everyday objects, learning to observe the world with fresh eyes. No previous experience is required—just curiosity and a willingness to explore. By the end of the course, students will gain confidence, develop fundamental techniques, and discover their unique creative voice.

Fred Amini is a passionate artist and the founder of Urban Art Studio 101 in downtown Edmonton. With many years of experience teaching drawing and painting to students of all ages, Fred brings warmth, expertise, and inspiration to every class. His teaching approach blends strong technical foundations with personal expression, encouraging each student to discover their creative potential. Fred has led numerous workshops, art nights and community painting events, and is known for creating a welcoming atmosphere where everyone can flourish artistically—whether they’re picking up a pencil for the first time or returning to a forgotten passion.
