Need to Know Information for Spring Session Registration

Spring Session runs from April 28, 2025, to May 16, 2025, Monday to Friday each week. With the exception of the evening course, classes are held in four periods between 9:15 and 3:30, two in the morning and two in the afternoon, with a lunch break in between and they run for the full 15 days. The evening course takes place twice a week offsite.

Registration Requirements

Registration begins on Wednesday, April 2 and ends Wednesday, April 23 at 3:00 p.m.

Purchase an annual membership for $25 before creating your Course Bundle. (Your membership status can be found on the My Account page.)

Course Pricing

Courses are sold as a bundle: $250 for up to two courses, $325 for three courses, and $390 for four courses.

Of the thirty-four courses ​being offered​, four are art instruction courses that take place over two periods and are considered two courses for the purposes of payment.

Course changes and Refunds Deadline is Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. Please note that a $75 administration fee will be charged. Refunds will not be available after that date except in extraordinary circumstances.

Course Locations and Parking

All courses are in person and are held in the Education Building of the University of Alberta on 87 avenue, between 112 and 114 streets, except the Qigong which will be held at the Van Vliet Complex on campus and the evening class at Mixtale Liquor, 914 Parsons Road, SW Edmonton.

Spring Session Noon Hour Presentations will be in person only and held in the auditorium in the Education Building.

Parking Permits on campus will be available after the first week of registration at a cost of $112.20 for full days for the three weeks. Bicycle cage parking is also available through Parking Services or bicycles can be locked to the bicycle stands outside the south and east doors of the Education building.

All registrations are handled online. If you experience difficulty, help will be available during standard office hours either by telephone at 825-901-0515 or by contacting us here on ELLA.

Supply Lists will be emailed to registrants in a particular class and/or will be available on the Course Page.

Course Cancellations

Should a course not meet the minimum requirements for enrollment, you will be informed of the decision to cancel the course. You may either choose another course, or receive a refund based on the pricing structure for Spring Session.

Bursaries and Financial Assistance

Thanks to ELLA donors, bursaries are available to cover membership and
registration costs. Applicants must provide evidence of receiving one of the following:

● Alberta Seniors Benefit (for 65+ )
● AISH and Income Supports (for adults under 65)
● Subsidized community housing as administered by the Government of Alberta (seniors lodges or apartments)
● Subsidized Edmonton Transit pass for the current year
Approved applicants will receive a free membership for the current year and will only have to pay a fee of $50 to register for a bundle of one or two courses. For bundles of 3 or 4 courses, there will be a $200 discount off the total.
Applications will be available on the ELLA website between March 24, 2025 and April 23, 2025.
