With close to 600 grape varieties, Italian wine can be intimidating. As consumers, we stick to the usual suspects of chianti, pinot grigio or prosecco. But there is a whole world of Italian wine out there! With this course, students will be able to expand their knowledge of Italian wines, taste new grape varieties and make their next purchase with confidence. This course will cover each of Italy’s 20 regions and the grape varieties grown, the wine they make and each region’s gastronomy. A one-time fee of $25 per student, collected at the venue, will allow participants to taste from 4-6 wines each class, learn about ideal food pairings and leave with a new understanding and appreciation of wines from Italy. Participants will also be able to purchase wine from the store at a discount. This course will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays, from 6:30 to 9:00 pm, at Mixtale Liquor, 914 Parsons Road SW.
