Functional fitness is the key to staying independent! You will learn how to perform proper movement techniques to increase strength and decrease the likelihood of falling and potentially hurting yourself. Maintaining your strength will allow you to continue doing the things you love – like playing with your grandchildren, staying healthy so you can continue living in your home, or traveling to places you’ve never seen. By the end of this course you will have a large amount of information that you can use to increase your flexibility, practice balance, modify exercises to suit your current mobility issues, and prevent potential issues that arise from arthritis and weak muscles. You will even have a fitness program to use after the course! You will be using dumbbells, a massage ball, and a chair for this class. You will be asked to perform exercises on the floor; however, options will be given to use a chair instead.
