Astam! Come and learn about nehiyawewin from a fluent nehiyawewin Plains Cree speaker. You will be introduced to a brief synopsis of the Cree language, storytelling, and cultural experiences from a nehiyaw iskwew (Cree woman) perspective.
Instructor: Dorothy Thunder

Thunder is a first-language speaker of nehiyawewin/Plains Cree from Little Pine First Nation in Saskatchewan and is a professor of Cree at the University of Alberta. Recognizing that her command of the language is uncommon among members of her generation, she shares it at every opportunity: in classrooms, online teaching, and at land-based camps.
