This course is designed to teach novice photographers how to create better pictures by using many of the features and settings outside of ‘automatic’. Using simple hands-on practice, the instructor will help you to navigate your menus and make adjustments to get the best technical quality images possible; to position your subjects and frame your images properly, and create strong focal points using colour, space, lines, and tones, so you can take photographs to be proud of.  Advanced point-and-shoot, DSLR or mirrorless cameras are all welcome. Your camera should have the ability to take photos in Program, Aperture Priority, Shutter Speed Priority, and manual modes. Some compact cameras may not have all the features discussed. Cell phone photographers will enjoy the compositional aspects of this class, however cell phone cameras have only a limited ability to control the technical settings. Feel free to message the instructor with any questions regarding your camera’s suitability.
