The twentieth century optimistically brought about new forms of urbanism and architecture built around new social and economic patterns. This course will look at these new patterns and forms, citing local examples from Alberta and elsewhere.

Instructor:

Darrel Babuk is an Edmonton-based architect who specializes in preserving stories of Canadian heritage and achievement. Though a born-and-bred Albertan, he practiced for many years in Chicago where he is still regarded as a local historian having made many media appearances. He was awarded the RAIC Certificate of Merit for his work promoting Canadian architecture in a Chicago context.
